GAELICSTATS TRACKER

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 16 July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Cian Gibbons (“we”, “us”) collects, uses and protects your personal data when you use Gaelic Stats Tracker (the “Service”). We are based in Ireland and are committed to protecting your privacy in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Irish data protection law.

1. Who we are

The Service is operated by Cian Gibbons, an individual (sole trader) based in Ireland, who is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. You can contact us at support@gaelicstatstracker.com.

2. Information we collect

  • Account information. When you sign in with Google or Apple through our authentication provider (Clerk), we receive your name, email address and, where available, your profile photo, together with a unique account identifier. We never receive or store your Google or Apple password.
  • Information you enter. The content you create to run your club — clubs, teams, competitions, players, matches, lineups, live match events, statistics, tactics and notes. This may include personal data about other people, such as the players on your teams (see “Data about other people” below).
  • Billing information. If you subscribe to a paid plan, payments are processed by Stripe. We receive your subscription status and limited billing details (such as your plan, billing dates and the card brand and last four digits). We do not receive or store full card numbers — Stripe handles those directly.
  • Usage and technical data. We use Vercel’s privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics to understand how the Service is used, such as which pages are visited and how quickly they load. This does not use advertising cookies or build a profile about you.

3. Cookies

We use only essential cookies needed to run the Service — in particular, authentication cookies set by Clerk to keep you securely signed in. Our analytics are cookieless. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

4. How we use your data and our legal basis

  • To provide and operate the Service (create your account, store your club’s data and show your statistics) — performance of a contract with you.
  • To process subscriptions and payments — performance of a contract and compliance with legal obligations (such as tax and accounting).
  • To keep the Service secure and prevent abuse — our legitimate interests.
  • To understand and improve the Service through aggregate analytics — our legitimate interests.
  • To contact you about your account or important changes — performance of a contract and our legitimate interests.
  • To comply with the law — legal obligation.

5. Who we share your data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the service providers that help us run the Service, and only so they can process it on our instructions:

  • Clerk — authentication and account management.
  • Neon — database hosting (stores your account and club data).
  • Stripe — payment processing.
  • Vercel — application hosting and cookieless analytics.

Some of these providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses. We may also disclose data where required to do so by law.

6. Data about other people

The Service lets you record information about other people, such as the players on your teams. Some of these people may be children. When you enter such data, you confirm that you are entitled to do so — for example, that your club has an appropriate lawful basis and any consents that are needed. In relation to that data, you (and your club) act as the controller and we act as a processor on your behalf. Please only enter information that is necessary for tracking sporting performance.

7. How long we keep your data

We keep your account and content while your account is active. If you delete your account, or ask us to delete your data, we will delete or anonymise it within a reasonable period, except where we must keep certain records to comply with the law (for example, billing records for tax purposes).

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access your data; to correct inaccurate data; to have your data erased; to restrict or object to processing; to data portability; and to withdraw consent where we rely on it. To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@gaelicstatstracker.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Irish Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie).

9. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encrypting it in transit and using reputable infrastructure providers. No online service can be completely secure, but we work to keep your information safe.

10. Children

The Service is intended for adults involved in running teams, such as coaches, managers and club administrators. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account, and we do not knowingly allow anyone under 16 to hold one. Information about players who are children is entered by clubs under their own responsibility, as described above.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will update the “last updated” date above and, where appropriate, let you know.

12. Contact us

If you have any questions about this policy or your data, contact us at support@gaelicstatstracker.com. See also our Terms of Service.
